What we’ll make
During the retreat you’ll create:

-Works on fine art paper, panel, canvas, combining gold leaf + acrylic/gouache (watercolor welcome, gilding after)

-A partially gilded Balinese wood carving (optionally further painted)

-A repeatable process for surface prep, laying leaf, sealing, and repairing — plus composition choices that keep gold elegant and intentional

Who it’s for
This retreat is for artists and serious creatives who want real technique, calm structure, and personal coaching.
You don’t need to be “advanced” at all — curiosity and care for craft matter most. Reach out if you are unsure if this would be a good fit for you.

Location + timing
Dasa Wana Jungle Resort (Candidasa, Bali) — we’re planning an exclusive, small-group stay.
Timing: first half of March 2027 (final dates confirmed after summer 2026).
Nyepi: Bali’s Day of Silence falls in early March 2027; our dates include it, we will treat it thoughtfully and explain the context clearly to guests.

What’s included (planned)

-Accommodation (exclusive use of the resort for our group)

-Daily teaching, demos, and 1:1 coaching

-A curated materials kit for gilding + painting

-Breakfast + lunch included
Dinner is intended to be optional most days (with on-site dinners likely on Nyepi and on the first/last evening)

Expected price
From €2,650 per artist (final pricing depends on the final dates and inclusions).
A payment plan will be available. Non-painting partners at a discounted price.

Is this a “spiritual” retreat?
No. It’s craft-led and grounded in technique. Depth is welcome, but we don’t do hype or over promising.

What happens if it doesn’t go ahead?
If we don’t reach the minimum by late summer 2026, we won’t proceed — and you’ll be informed early.

Do I need to bring supplies?
A materials kit is included. You’ll receive a short packing list.
