Moon II

Moon II is a small gilded painting in which a Eurasian jay feather is placed with quiet pride into the folded tail of the crane. Against a luminous 13.6k white-gold leaf ground, the gesture feels intimate and self-possessed, not as disguise, but as adornment, recognition and a gentle claiming of what belongs.

Part of the Golden Medallions series, this piece continues recent themes of identity, encounter and quiet transformation. Its modest scale gives it an intimate, almost icon-like quality, while the refined materials and subtle symbolism lend the work a quiet sense of depth and value.
